This is a three-semester programme leading to a Bachelor degree in Economics and Business Administration. Admission is given to students who have either completed a degree in Economics and related subjects or have completed the second year of their bachelor degree studies in Economics and/or Business Administration at another university.
Aims and Methods of Teaching
Students are taught basic courses in business administration and are trained in applying theories, models and tools in these courses to develop strategies for companies operating in open market-driven economies. Emphasis is therefore placed on theory-practice integration using cases and project work to help students acquire relevant analytical skills.
In addition to classroom teaching of courses (such as strategic management, export marketing, corporate finance, managerial accounting and business policy), students are required to prepare comprehensive project reports each semester in groups of five. Each group is attached to a specific local company and a supervisor that helps them in solving the company's problems using their theoretical knowledge. Students then take oral examinations on the basis of their written project reports.
Degree students following the three-semester B.Sc. programme begin on 1 September whereas guest/exchange students can choose to begin either on 1 September or 1 February.
