International Law Programme

The School of Law has experienced a rapid growth in the number of courses taught in English. You can now choose from a broad variety of subjects offered during the spring and autumn terms. The course programme at master’s level is generally oriented toward the international legal framework but also includes reference to Danish and North Atlantic legal matters.

The AAU Law Programme in English includes either three or six courses, each worth 10 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) points. You select your courses when you apply. You will find the subjects offered in English here: STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

A field trip to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, forms an integral part of the AAU Law Program. The field trip includes visits to prominent state institutions such as the Danish High Court and Parliament. During the field trip, elements of the courses may be taught at Aalborg University’s premises in central Copenhagen, situated by the harbor front.

In case of small student numbers on the Law Programme at AAU, teaching will be case-based, and we will ensure that the learning targets of the course are complied with. Thus the School of Law will guarantee that a relevant course will be established each semester.

Vis Moot Court Competition

If you choose the 60 ECTS point programme (six courses), you will be given the opportunity to participate in the Vis Moot Court competition when you apply. You can read more about this competition here. A maximum of four exchange students may take part in the competition. If more than four exchange students show interest, participants will be selected based on individual interviews that focus on personal qualifications, English language proficiency and academic grades. Similar to regular optional courses, 10 ECTS points are awarded for participation in the Vis Moot Court competition.
